10 Things you must do in the USA for international students
If you are an international student and are about to travel to the United States to join a university, you will certainly have your own thoughts regarding what you should do and what not! With the forethought’s and fear, international students are often clueless regarding what they need to do once they are in the USA. We bring to you a list of ten things you must do in the USA for international students so that life becomes easy for you in the United States:
The moment you are in the US, make sure that you change your money in any of the airport bureaus as you will need it right from the moment you step out from the airport. During the first few days, until your bank account is not functional, you will have to survive using cash and hence; carry some cash that will last for a week at least.
Get a Mobile Phone
If you are traveling to the US and do not have a global SIM that can be used anywhere, visit a carrier with all your documents and choose a calling plan that best suits your needs. Make sure that you have benefits for calling home.
Keep your documents handy
All the documents related to your travel and admission to the university must be kept handy at all times as you never know when you would need it.
Although you will be jet-lagged for the first few days, fight it and get used to the local time zone. This way, you will be able to deal with things in a better manner.
Talk to people
Talk to your professors, immediate neighbors and people from your community as they will be your extended family and be there for you always.
Join your Country’s student club
Generally, most of the universities in the US have major populace from different countries and hence, they will have a country club for each club. Join the club and get to know more people.
Stay away from Scams
There will be several ads and agents that might try to lure you into scams for various aspects such as electronics, job offers etc. Carry out adequate research and stay away from it.
Go on Trips
Once you are used to the routine, plan for trips on weekends as there are wonderful places to visit in the US and it will also give you a break from your studies.

If you are planning to buy anything, make sure that you plan it around Black Friday, as you will be able to get the best deals on electronics and all other accessories during Black Friday.
